Ron Kiefel

Ron “Wookie” Kiefel is a former professional road bicycle racer from the United States. Kiefel is a seven-time Tour de France racer, Olympic bronze medalist, and member of the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame. Kiefel rode for American professional teams such as 7-Eleven, Motorola, Coors Light and Saturn. His wins included the 1985 Trofeo Laigueglia and the 1987 Tour of Tuscany.

Bobby Julich

Bobby Julich is an American former professional road bicycle racer who last rode for Team CSC in the UCI ProTour racing series. He got his international breakthrough when he finished 3rd overall in the 1998 Tour de France, becoming only the second American to finish on the podium. He is a strong time trialist who won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Individual Time Trial and combined with his high versatility he has won a number of stage races on the international circuits including the 2005 edition of Paris–Nice. In September 2008, he announced his retirement as a professional cyclist.

Chris Carmichael

Chris Carmichael is a retired professional cyclist and member of the U.S. National Cycling Team (1978–1984).  Carmichael was a member of the first U.S. cycling team to compete in the Tour de France, 7-Eleven Cycling Team, in 1986. He is now a triathlon and endurance sports coach as well as the founder of Carmichael Training Systems.

Bob Shaver

Winner of 52 races and numerous recognitions, Bob Shaver holds a unique place in Colorado’s cycling history.  Owner of former ShaverSport Cyclewear, Bob is responsible for the creation and production of the Leader’s Jersey for the Coors Classic and a supplier to Warner Brother’s for American Flyers and numerous events and international teams. An accomplished competitive cyclist himself, Bob was also appointed by Governor Ritter in 2009 to create the framework for what became the USA Pro Challenge.

PRIVATE PACKET PICK-UP

On Friday, September 28 there will be a private rooftop reception with heavy appetizers and libations @ the Avalon Theatre in downtown Grand Junction.  VIP’s will have a chance to pick up their credentials and rub elbows with former 7-Eleven team members and other delegates.

American Flyers

Following the reception @ the Avalon Theatre, join us for a special showing of American Flyers as part of Grand Junction’s Movie on the Rocks series. Enjoy a signature cocktail, light hors d’oeuvres and popcorn.

A NIGHT OUT

After the ride, kick back and enjoy a fun and engaging night at Taco Party with Chef Josh Niernberg and experience the best of Colorado cuisine. The evening will include dinner and drinks.
